“Assuming either the Left Wing or the Right Wing gained control of the country, it would probably fly around in circles.” Pat Paulsen
Happiness is a state of mind. It's not dictated by outward circumstances – really. Learning to see a situation as it is, not as you hoped or feared it would be, is one of the keys to being content.
“A waist is a terrible thing to mind.”
Jane Caminos
“Where is human nature so weak as in the bookstore?”
Henry Ward Beecher
“Eccentricity is not, as dull people would have us believe, a form of madness. It is often a kind of innocent pride, and the man of genius and the aristocrat are frequently regarded as eccentrics because genius and aristocrat are entirely unafraid of and uninfluenced by the opinions and vagaries of the crowd.”
Edith Sitwell
Kundalini is considered the most comprehensive of yogas, combining meditation, prayer, physical practices and breathing exercises. “Kundalini” literally means “the curl of the lock of hair of the beloved.” This poetic metaphor alludes to the flow of energy and consciousness that exists within each of us, and enables us to merge with - or “yoke” - the universal Self. Fusing individual and universal consciousness creates a divine union, called “yoga.” The Upanishads, Hindu's sacred scriptures that date back to the fifth century B.C., describe Kundalini, although the oral tradition reaches back even further into history. For thousands of years, this sacred science and technology was veiled in secrecy, passed along verbally from master to chosen disciple.
“When he has no lust, no hatred, a man walks safely among the things of lust and hatred.”
the Bhagavad Gita
“We need not to be let alone. We need to be really bothered once in a while. How long is it since you were really bothered? About something important, about something real?”
Ray Bradbury
“Our scientific power has outrun our spiritual power. We have guided missiles and misguided men.”
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
“Sometimes the appropriate response to reality is to go insane.” - Philip K. Dick
The only real service we can render to that which we perceive and interpret in phenomenal existence as 'others' is by awakening to universal consciousness ourselves. - Ask the Awakened by Wei Wu Wei
The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.
George Carlin
Never attempt anything new unless you can do so with the same intensity that you would approach a pond if your hair were on fire.
